This was a public talk on DU where a man named Jeff Cheng discussed his views of the racial climate in America using pop culture references and some references to his book, “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.”, describing how while the perceived racial imbalances appear bad, things are going to improve if people want them to and work for it. He later does Q&A with the audience to get their opinions and answer their questions about the topic.
The book was ironically written before the 2016 election, and so far the “getting better” part doesn’t seem to be coming soon, which is something Jeff admitted to in the talk. Otherwise, this talk widened my views about the current racial issues in America and how they’re perceived and reacted to. I do hope things get better soon though, or it might hit a breaking point.
